Over the weekend you may have seen the announcement by the Nebraska Bankers Association that numerous banks are planning to limit lobby access, are encouraging the use of technology to conduct and complete financial transactions and ask that in person meetings be requested in advance and by appointment.
We know that several credit unions already have or are considering taking similar actions to help ensure the health and well-being of their employees, members and community. We believe the most appropriate step is for each individual credit union communicate directly with their membership of any dislocation in service access or hours based on COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
We understand that credit unions value member service above all else, but recommend that, out of an abundance of caution, they deliver that service in a manner consistent with combating the spread of the Coronavirus.
