Re: Young Professionals for Credit Unions Program (YPCU)
Navigating the current work landscape can be confusing for any professional. For young professionals just beginning to gain their footing in the labor force, the confusion can feel insurmountable at times. And with millennials surpassing Baby Boomers as the nation’s largest generation in the workforce, this confusion could prove to be a barrier to overall employment success and satisfaction.
Therefore, we are embarking on a journey to build a group of rising credit union professionals filled with a passion for advocacy, professional development, and community service. The purpose of the Young Professionals for Credit Unions (YPCU) Program is to unite young credit union professionals looking to enhance and expand their professional journey. But we simply cannot do it without your active support, encouragement, and cooperation.
Young professionals are the future building blocks for any organization, so giving them a direct and trusted group of similarly situated individuals to lean on only makes sense. In fact, there are a ton of great reasons why the YPCU Program could work wonders for your credit union.
Let’s take a look at 3 key reasons why your credit union should highly consider providing an opportunity for your Young Professionals to join the Young Professionals for Credit Unions (YPCU) Program:
- Networking & Social Events: Social events provide an opportunity for young professionals to get together and network with peers in an informal setting. These events are typically offered to YPCU dues paying members for little to no cost to encourage attendance and participation.
- Professional Development Events: Professional development events provide an opportunity for YPCU members to learn from experienced industry experts.
- Community Involvement Events: Volunteer and philanthropic events are an opportunity for YPCU members to give back to the community in which they serve and work. Community service events may be a one-time project at some specific point throughout the year, or an ongoing effort.
We have created a brief 3-minute YPCU survey to help gauge your credit unions interest and potential involvement with the YPCU. I thank you in advance for your time and attention.
