Nebraska Gubernatorial candidate Jim Pillen stopped by the Nebraska Credit Union League to visit with credit union leaders. Credit union leaders discussed important state issues impacting credit unions and solutions to improving the state credit union charter. “The dual chartering system, whereby credit unions have a viable choice between the federal and state charter, is important and needs improvement in Nebraska,” said Brandon Luetkenhaus, Chief Advocacy Officer of the League. The League has organized a working group of state and federal credit union representatives to look at improvements that can be made to the state charter. Mr. Pillen outlined his priorities including controlling state spending, reducing taxes, and ensuring that every child in Nebraska has the chance to pursue their dreams.
Mr. Pillen is running against State Senator Carol Blood to be Nebraska’s 41st Governor. Governor Pete Ricketts is term limited having served two, four-year terms. Mr. Pillen owns Pillen Family Farms and DNA Genetics in Platte County.
