Governor Jim Pillen signed a proclamation recognizing October 19, 2023, as International Credit Union Day in Nebraska. In his proclamation, Governor Pillen recognized “credit unions empower people to improve their economic situations in 118 nations around the world” serving three hundred and ninety-three million members. He said that credit unions are “founded by people working together towards economic advancement, uniting people seeking a way to improve their future”.
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of International Credit Union Day which is celebrated on the third Thursday in October to recognize the spirit of the credit union movement throughout the world.
