Tom Bolton, Board Chairman of Liberty First CU, received the 2024 CU4Kids Champion Award at this year’s NCUL Annual Convention Awards Ceremony in Kearney.
This award is the highest individual honor that can be bestowed upon a credit union employee or volunteer in Nebraska in recognition of their involvement in Credit Unions for Kids. Credit Unions were founded on the principle of “People Helping People” and our involvement in Credit Unions for Kids demonstrates this commitment. Participation on an individual level is vital to fundraising success and this award was established to recognize that person who makes a difference, one event, one dollar, one minute at a time. This individual is a champion for CU4Kids and Children’s Nebraska. They go above and beyond anything asked of them in their job.
Taken from his nomination:
“Central to Tom’s ethos is his belief in ‘people helping people.’ His unwavering support for community organizations, coupled with his dedicated advocacy for Credit Unions for Kids, exemplifies his commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives. While personally contributing and participating in fundraising initiatives, Tom and his wife have been instrumental in supporting Children’s Nebraska, ensuring top-tier medical care for all in the region. Going beyond personal commitment, Tom encourages associates to attend carnivals held at the hospital, golf outings for CU for Kids, and other events that bring awareness and raise donations for this organization.”
We, at the League, are so very thankful to Tom for all his dedication and passion for Credit Unions for Kids. He truly exemplifies this Award. Seeing the Bolton’s at events and observing their desire to help is incredible. And the generous donations he and wife, Diane, have given have helped meet and reach our sponsorship goals over the years.
Congratulations to Tom!
