The Nebraska Credit Union League, in collaboration with CU Collaborate and America’s Credit Unions, held a webinar on the newly updated Project Zip Code (PZC) advocacy tool. When Nebraska credit union advocates meet with Congressmen, U.S. Senators, Governor, state and local officials, or candidates running for office, it is important that they can accurately quantify the number of credit union members/constituents that reside in each respective district. This is done through the PZC program. The League recently announced a partnership between the League, CU Collaborate, and America’s Credit Unions to strengthen PZC by streamlining the process by which geographical member data is safely and securely shared. Late last year, CU Collaborate and the League organized several Nebraska credit unions for a pilot of the new PZC. The pilot program went extremely well and the testimonials from some of those participating credit unions underscore the ease with which credit unions participated. The webinar served as a statewide roll out of the new PZC program to all Nebraska credit unions. The League’s goal is to have every credit union member in Nebraska counted through PZC.
“We were very pleased with the ease of the streamlined Project Zip Code process through CUCollaborate. The user-friendly system has made our data entry and analysis tasks much simpler and more efficient. Accurate and real-time data greatly enhances Nebraska Credit Union’s ability to advocate for our members’ interests effectively. This process, along with the knowledgeable and easy to work with team at CUCollaborate, has made reporting information that is crucial for credit union advocacy efforts easy.” — Frank Wilber, President/CEO, Liberty First Credit Union
“Cobalt Credit Union recently participated in the Project Zip Code pilot program and was thoroughly impressed. CUCollaborate hosted a webinar to explain the process and ease of uploading the files each month. Their support team was attentive and responsive, addressing any concerns promptly. This program has truly enhanced our data analytics options and is a value in future strategic efforts. It also reflects the collaborative spirit of credit unions and aid in Federal and State advocacy efforts. Highly recommended!” — Robin Larsen, President/CEO, Cobalt Federal Credit Union
“Working with CUCollaborate for project zip code was a very easy process. We currently upload our fully encrypted Aires report to them each month and CUCollaborate uploads our data into Project Zip code a couple of times each year. CUCollaborate was great to work with.” — Dee Schriner, President/CEO, Trius Federal Credit Union
The League encourages every credit union to participate in PZC and to call Brandon Luetkenhaus at the League office with any questions on the program or how to get started.
